The Reap Story
Every brand starts with a simple premise — a good idea and a handful of believers. Yet, not all journeys are equal; some have it harder due to undervalued potential and scarce support. Our journey began with an idea to level this playing field.
Witnessing countless businesses hindered by outdated financial systems, we set out to create a more equitable landscape. By breaking down barriers to banking systems and cash flow, we empowered businesses to focus on their core competencies.
As we expanded, so did our dedication to democratising financial access. We continue to uncover disparities in access among businesses, and have recognised the need to bridge the gap between traditional finance and digital assets as a means to enhance financial access. Our offerings have since broadened, and this journey has furnished us with invaluable insights into the complexities of global finance, including the constraints of financial systems in emerging markets, propelling us to build a robust global network for seamless money movement.
Today, Reap stands as a catalyst for efficient, borderless payments. Over time, we’ve distilled our experiences and technology into proprietary API solutions, enabling other businesses to create their payment solutions. Our ultimate ambition? Our Co-Founders
Daren Guo
Daren is a Co-Founder at Reap, leading product development for financial solutions in the Web2 and Web3 sectors. Alongside his childhood friend Kevin, Daren established Reap in 2018 with the vision of enabling seamless payments and connectivity for financial institutions.
Before Reap, Daren played a key role in Stripe's growth, starting at their San Francisco headquarters and helping establish their first APAC presence in Singapore. He contributed to scaling the company from 90 to over 1500 employees.
Daren is a sought-after speaker on FinTech, digital financing, payments, and Web3. He has been recognised by notable media outlets such as The Economist and Forbes Asia for his expertise and industry experience. Reap was featured on Forbes Asia's 100 To Watch list for 2023, and Daren received the Gen.T Honouree award from Tatler.
Kevin Kang
Kevin Kang, Co-Founder of Reap, drives the company's growth by leveraging his expertise in strategy and operations to enhance financial access for institutions worldwide.
Starting in Canadian investment banking, Kevin expanded his experience to include infrastructure investments in Southeast Asia, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the financial landscape. This knowledge enables him to effectively guide Reap's expansion.
Kevin's market leadership and unique perspectives have attracted interviews with renowned platforms like the DigFin podcast and Cointelegraph. Reap's success is underscored by its global team of over 100 professionals spanning eight countries, showcasing Kevin's significant contribution.
